Iran Warns of Strong Retaliation Against Any Attack, Responding to Trump’s Threats

Tehran: Hours after U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian responded firmly on social media, declaring that any attack on Iran would be met with a “severe” response, leaving aggressors to regret their actions.

Trump’s warning came following his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida. The U.S. President said that if Iran does not curb its nuclear and ballistic missile programs, the consequences would be “very dangerous” and could be more severe than previous actions. He emphasized that the United States had given Iran opportunities in the past, but such leniency would not continue indefinitely.

Pezeshkian’s Strong Response
Without naming anyone, President Pezeshkian posted a concise warning on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Any attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran will receive a strong response, and the aggressor will regret it.” The statement underscores Tehran’s readiness to defend its sovereignty against any external military threat.

U.S. Keeps a Close Watch on Iran
President Trump told reporters that Washington is closely monitoring Iran’s activities. When asked about American support for Israeli strikes targeting Iran’s missile program, Trump affirmed that the U.S. would fully back any action to prevent Tehran from advancing its nuclear capabilities. The Trump-Netanyahu meeting at Mar-a-Lago marked their fifth encounter this year, reflecting heightened coordination on Middle East security issues.

Historical Context: Previous Strikes on Iran
On 13 June 2025, Israel launched attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, targeting military, nuclear, and residential sites over a 12-day campaign. Subsequently, the United States struck Iran’s Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan nuclear sites on 22 June.
